GENERAL INFORMATION:

  • You will be notified by your coach by mid-February for Spring seasons and mid-August for Fall seasons.
  • Games and clinics will take place at Ogden Park, Eaton Fields and / or Kiwanis Park.
  • Games may be played on Friday night, Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
  • All teams may be co-ed.
  • Age groups may be combined based on the number of participants.
  • You may request for your child to play up one age group. Players are not allowed to play down.
  • We will attempt to keep existing teams together unless otherwise requested. Register early to guarantee your spot!
  • We will try to honor all requests, but there are no guarantees.
  • If your child is playing travel soccer, they are not allowed to play recreational soccer at Port City Soccer.  Should you have any questions about our recreational policies, feel free to email us at admin@portcitysoccer.org.

COACHING: Our Port City Soccer Recreation Program relies on parent volunteers, such as yourself, to coach the teams. We do not form teams without a coach in place. In order to ensure your child, as well as all others, to have an opportunity to play, please give serious consideration to volunteering as a coach. No previous soccer experience is needed and we provide all the supplies that you may need! We will assist you via coaches clinics and ongoing support throughout the season. Ideally, we would like to have multiple parents helping with the coaching or being a team parent, if possible. * Mandatory coaches meeting and clinic for new coaches will be held for new coaches before practice begins.

TEAM PARENT: This position can assist the coach by handling parental communication, schedule updates and organization. They also may help to arrange the snack and drink schedule for after games if your team chooses and help notify the team of rainouts.

PRACTICES: A small reward for volunteering to coach is getting to set up the team’s practice time and location. Practice sites include, but are not limited to: Ogden Park, Eaton Fields, Hampstead United Methodist Church and Hampstead Kiwanis Park. If you would like to be on a team that practices in one of these areas, you may make note on the special request line. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that you will be placed on one of these teams.

SPONSORSHIP: Annual team sponsorships may be purchased for $400. Sponsorships help to keep costs down by subsidizing team uniforms, equipment, and field maintenance. Company name and logo will be printed on the front of jerseys.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
▪ Registration is available online. Please e-mail a copy of player’s birth certificate if you are new to Port City Soccer.
▪ No child will be placed on a team until full payment is received and birth certificate is in hand.
▪ Late applicants must add $10 to total fee after January 1st for Spring and after July 1st for Fall. Please register on time and avoid this fee!

REFUNDS/CREDITS: All refunds will be subject to a 35.00 administrative fee to help cover our registration expenses (admin, uniforms, screen printing, insurance, etc). There will be no refunds once games begin. There are no refunds for WUFA tryouts.

GENERAL: Port City Soccer is committed to providing a positive soccer environment for all players regardless of previous experience. Our philosophy revolves around participation and FUN for all in the soccer environment. In order to give everyone the same chance to enjoy the program, we ask that you commit to full participation: that is trying to attend all practices as well as games. We strongly discourage players from ”quitting” during the season, as this negatively affects the team as well as the others they will play.

INCLEMENT WEATHER: Field status will be updated by 4:00 pm weekdays or by 7:30 am on game days if needed. Please check www.portcitysoccer.org or our Facebook links for updates before leaving for the fields. Every attempt will be made to remake any missed games due to weather cancellations.
